Exploring the Role of Experience Facilitators in Transformative Experiences

Abstract:

This research investigates a theoretical framework that identifies the roles and competencies essential for transforming experience facilitators TEFs to guide and contribute towards transformation. Through a qualitative study, guided by the tour guide's Experience Broker model and the phases of memorable tourist experiences, this paper conducts 31 in-depth interviews with experts in TEFs using thematic template analysis. ing framework outlines seven access roles for TEFs further refined into nine categories of competencies.

The contribution is to provide a transformative experience guiding model suitable for various practitioners while opening new research avenues focused on the provider's perspective within transformation domns, and enhancing comprehension of the distinct role played by a TEF.
