Transforming Neighborhoods: A Comprehensive Approach to Solving Real Estate Challenges

Overview:

Today's communities face numerous real estate challenges, such as declining housing quality and affordability, natural disasters, commercial disinvestment, and gaps in residential development. The National Association of REALTORS? NAR is partnering with The Counselors of Real Estate CRE, an affiliate organization offering expertise in complex property and land-related issues through its CRE Consulting Corps program.

Through Transforming Neighborhoods, we m to provide local REALTOR associations and relevant stakeholders with strategic solutions to these pressing problems. This collaboration supports revitalization efforts, addresses housing shortages, encourages the reuse of vacant properties, and helps communities recover from natural disasters.

The webinar on Transforming Neighborhoods provided an overview of our partnership with the CRE Consulting Corps and introduced you to past participants' successes in addressing downtown revitalization, corridor reimagining, economic development, and brownfield redevelopment. The session also highlighted how we are working together to tackle real estate challenges faced by municipalities and organizations.

Partner Information:

The Counselors of Real Estate, established in 1953, is a consortium dedicated to solving complex real estate problems and enhancing property performance. The CRE Consulting Corps, launched as a public service initiative by the organization, offers expert advice on issues faced by municipalities, REALTORS associations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, government entities, etc.

Services Provided:

The CRE Consulting Corps will provide comprehensive analysis, strategic guidance, and actionable recommations to address pressing real estate challenges such as:

• Addressing housing gaps

• Igniting residential and commercial redevelopment

• Rebuilding after natural disasters

Each engagement is tlored based on the needs identified by the local REALTOR association applicant and involves active participation from stakeholders.

1. REALTORS? Association of Westmoreland, Indiana and Mon Valley analyzed the market and provided strategic guidance for unused or underutilized properties to help Greensburg revitalize its downtown area.

2. CRE Consulting Corps: Rebuilding Paradise on behalf of the Paradise Association of REALTORS focused on rebuilding housing stock and services lost in a wildfire within Paradise's community.

3. Commercial Connections successfully shifted community engagement efforts by exploring possibilities for Downtown Greensburg's future, leveraging an external perspective to spark revitalization discussions.
